Spawning: In order to describe the spawning technique, the authors have taken from Gary Elson's article of title "Dandy danio" in the magazine "Tropical Fish Hobbyist", November 2002. According to Gary Elson, he sterilized all the equipment. (Breeding tank, spawning medium, net etc.), and conditioned the males and females of red fin danio by keeping separately. For spawning purposes, 20 liters tank was filled with soft and slightly acidic water and bottom of the tank was covered with three layers of glass marbles. Two males and a female were placed in the tank in the evening. The danio would spawn at the first light of morning. The parents were removed after spawning. About seven days after spawning free-swimming fry could be observed. The fry are fed with infusoria first, and then later with Artemia nauplii.
